| Elves have arrived in St. Charles to help get the City ready for the 51st season of Saint Charles Christmas Traditions®! With opening day just 23 days away, here are some things that you should know before heading to the best Christmas festival in the region.
1. When is it?
Saint Charles Christmas Traditions® officially opens the day after Thanksgiving and ends on Christmas Eve. Find specific dates and times on our Christmas Traditions® page.
2. Dress for the weather!
Christmas Traditions® is an all-weather festival. Find the legends of Christmas on Main Street, in rain, snow, or shine. Bundle up, get a warm cup of wassail from the 8 Maids Wassail Tavern, and enjoy the festivities!
3. Photos with Santa
Get your photo with Santa at the KATY Depot. The line can get long, but if you want to skip the busy weekend lines at the Depot, visit on Friday evenings (12/5, 12/12, 12/19). Victorian Santa & Mrs. Claus meet with guests near the City Christmas Tree in Berthold Square (200 block of South Main).
4. Catch the Santa Parade
The Santa Parade takes place on Saturdays & Sundays at 12 PM at the North Main Colonnade, and the route proceeds to the 900 block of South Main Street. The parade is shortened on Opening Day (11/28) for the Opening Ceremony and Ribbon Cutting.
5. Need help? Find a Festival Ambassador!
Looking for a specific character? Need directions to the nearest restroom? Got questions about Christmas Traditions® activities? Keep an eye out for the “Santa Squad,” Festival Ambassadors who can help you make the most of your visit. They are hard to miss in their brightly colored vests.
