2025 marks a decade of frights, fun, and ghouls at Legends & Lanterns®: A "Spirited" Journey through Halloween History on Historic Main Street. This festival transforms Main Street into something straight out of a classic cozy autumn movie. Gas lamps adorned with cornstalks light the street in a warm glow, pumpkins sit atop shop stoops, and cafés whip up the latest fall drinks. There’s no better backdrop for spooky fun and fall magic.
On the last three weekends in October, Legends & Lanterns®: A "Spirited" Journey through Halloween History, brings history and folklore’s notorious villains, legendary phantoms, and ne’er-do-wells to life, ready to mingle, amuse, and even EDU-tain. Find buried treasure with swashbuckling pirates like Anne Bonny and Captain Hook, brainstorm spooky stories with Edgar Allan Poe and Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley at the Writers’ Block, and dodge the jittery glances of Ichabod Crane. Curious about the past? Step into the Victorian Mourning Museum at the KATY Depot, honor lost loved ones at the vibrant Plaza Del Dia de los Muertos, and walk the Haunted History Trail.
Set against one of Missouri’s most picturesque streets, Legends & Lanterns® is a full Halloween experience. With a crew of legendary characters, historical exhibits, and fun experiences, see for yourself why it has become the best fall festival over the past 10 years.
