Once Upon a Valentine™ comes to Main Street |
Love takes center stage on Historic Main Street on February 10th and 11th from noon to 3 PM as the inaugural Once Upon a Valentine™: Stories for the Loved & Loveless celebrates the history and festivities of Valentine’s Day. This micro-festival promises a unique blend of activities catering to both the hopeless romantic and the anti-Cupid crowd. For those embracing the "Pro" Valentine’s Day spirit, there are engaging activities such as archery practice with Cupid and the whimsical "Wheel-O-Sonnets" with Romeo & Juliet. Meanwhile, the "Anti-"Valentine’s Day enthusiasts can release their frustrations through art therapy with Miss Havisham and partake in the cathartic act of smashing a heart-shaped piñata with the six wives of Henry VIII. Love and heartbreak-themed musical groups will set the ambiance on Main Street, offering a diverse soundtrack for all festival-goers. To commemorate the experience, participants can collect free Valentine’s St. Charles postcards at each activity, and local shops and restaurants are joining in on the festivities with special deals for the event, creating a memorable and exciting celebration for everyone. |
