FESTIVAL OF THE LITTLE HILLS CELEBRATES 50 YEARS |
In 1769, French-Canadian fur trader Louis Blanchette founded the city that would become Saint Charles with the name "Les Petites Cotes" (The Little Hills). Since 1971, the Festival of the Little Hills has been celebrating the rich history of Saint Charles and commemorates the founding of our city with an annual event held the third full weekend of August. Now one of the largest festivals of the year, this event showcases more than 300 craft vendors that line Historic Main Street and cover the grassy areas in Frontier Park along the Missouri River. This year make plans to spend the weekend exploring the Saint Charles area and the festival August 20-22. You'll also find over 50 not-for-profit organizations serving some scrumptious festival foods, making this one of their major fundraisers to support their various organizations. During the weekend, a great selection of entertainment is planned with live music on the Jaycee Stage in Frontier Park, street entertainment, plus the Lewis & Clark Discovery Expedition. |
