Parks

St. Charles has over 4,767 acres of parks in the City and County parks systems combined. Hike, bike, kayak, and camp throughout our parks. Frontier Park is adjacent to Main Street St. Charles, and is often the home of local concerts, food truck events, Riverfest Festival, and more! Appreciate a view of the mighty Missouri River as you picnic in the park.

At Lakeside 370 Park in St. Peters, visitors may practice archery, hike or bike the 3.5-mile loop, rent a canoe, kayak, or paddleboard to enjoy on the lake.

In Historic Missouri Wine Country, discover Klondike Park and the Historic Daniel Boone Home. Formerly Daniel Boone’s family home, The Historic Daniel Boone Home is located in the Femme Osage Valley.  A dozen reconstructed historic buildings make up a small village set behind the house, and the 300-acre site provides a glimpse of life in the 1800s.

In addition to local parks, the Katy Trail State Park also runs through both Historic Missouri Wine Country, and Main Street St. Charles, MO. This 237-mile trail traces along the former path of the MKT Rail line, remnants of which can be seen at Frontier Park in Downtown St. Charles. The trail is popular for hiking and cycling. Visitors taking the Katy on in its entirety will find a multitude of accommodations available along the trail, including dining, rental gear, and places to stay.
